Takaki and Akari are close friends in elementary school. Their relationship is tested when Akari moves to another city because of her parents' jobs. As time and distance slowly pull them apart, they struggle to keep their friendship alive. When Takaki learns he will be moving even further away, he decides to visit Akari one final time.
