In this sequel to Ringu, Mai Takano is investigating the death of her boyfriend Ryuji. She learns the videotape is haunted by the spirit of a dead girl named Sadako and Ryuji's son, Yoichi, is developing the same psychic powers she had when alive. Mai must now find some way to prevent Yoichi and herself from becoming Sadako's next victims.
