Orphaned, Tharlo grows up to be a shepherd. People call him "Ponytail", since he and nobody else in the village remembers his real name. Now in his forties, he is still a virgin. When Tharlo meets a girl in the barber's shop, she changes the course of his life, and he embarks on a journey to find his true self.
