Based on the life of Luang Pradit Pairoh, the most revered master of traditional Thai music, which neared extinction when the government banned it as uncivilized during the 1930s to push Thailand into the modern era. The music survived and inspired the oppressed Thai people during World War II when the Japanese Army occupied their country.
