A truck driver, his wife, and their twins, son Fang Da and daughter Fang Deng are a happy simple family when a devastating earthquake destroys their home. After her husband dies trying to rescue his children, his wife is forced to decide between saving her son or daughter. However, Fang Deng overhears her mother's choice and miraculously survives.
