Relinquishing his life as a warrior, Li Mu Bai decides to send his sword, Green Destiny, to a friend for safekeeping. When the sword is stolen, he must retrieve it by defeating the evil Jade Fox, who killed his master years earlier. Yu Shu Lien, the unrequited love of his life, joins Li in his quest.
