Soe Hok Gie was a leftist student activist who lived in the sixties during the darkest era of modern Indonesian history. Adapted from his diary, the story revolves around his quest for truth and justice amidst a dictatorship that caused the massacre of millions of suspected communists. His struggle also involves his friends and the woman he loves.
