500 years after the Monkey King is imprisoned under Five Fingers Mountain, a young Buddhist monk sets out for the Thunder Monastery in India to collect Buddha's scriptures. He accidentally frees the Monkey King, who learns he must accompany the monk during his journey and protect him from the White Bone Demon.
