Based on Masako Bando’s novel. Woodwork artist Takumi moves to the village of Asuka, a place known for its ancient history. He then meets Kayoko, a woman who is fascinated by the color hanezu (crimson). Although she lives with her boyfriend Tetsuya, she has an affair with Takumi. After she becomes pregnant, she decides to break up with both men.
